On July 3, 2025, an official delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea visited the pearl of SPA and mineral tourism in the Balkans, the town of Velingrad.
The delegation included H.E. Ambassador Dong-be Kim, Ms. Ji and Cho, advisor, Ms. Seonun Lee, chief specialist in Politics and Economics, as well as Mr. Dong Hyun Ri – the general director of KOTRA, the Korean trade and economic organization for the region.
The visit was the result of the initiative of Mr. Veselin Koshev, president of the EDPD, the Bulgarian Trade and Construction Consortium, and the Euro-Asian Association for Business, Friendship, and Culture, along with the vice president of the mentioned structures, Mr. Nikolai Kondev, the invaluable technical support of Ms. Zlatka Ivanova, and the exceptional assistance of the mayor of Velingrad Municipality, Dr. Kostadin Koev, and the deputy mayor Atanas Paligov.
The high-ranking Korean delegation had a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with the past, present, and future vision of the city’s development, receive information about investment projects, and learn about the attraction of Korean tourists.
The visit was a worthy contribution to the development of economic, political, and cultural ties between our two friendly countries and practically demonstrated the respect and esteem for our civil structures from the diplomatic missions in Bulgaria.
